You can see Google views on Search and on Maps, right from your NextPaw dashboard. In analytics, you can gain some insight into your customers search behavior with search queries by ‘Direct’ and ‘Discovery.’ But what exactly do these numbers mean? Which should be higher?

  • A Google view on Search means that the person searching was looking for information in general before choosing a business.
  • A Google view on Maps means that the person searching was done looking for information, and was ready to get driving directions to your pet store.
  • A ‘Direct Search Query’ is when a person searches for ‘Your Pet Store Name’ + (dog food) or any product that they might be looking for. They were searching directly for you.
  • A ‘Discovery Search Query’ is when a person searches for ‘raw pet food near me.’ The searcher is trying to learn more about their search terms, and figure out if there is someplace near them to find what they are looking for.
