Facebook Messenger Ads allow users who see your ads to initiate a text conversation with your business with the click of a button. Facebook Messenger Ads are the best way to start one-on-one conversations with potential customers. With more and more customers turn to private messaging on social media, Messenger ads have never been more relevant.

How to Set Up Facebook Messenger Ads

  1. Open up the Facebook Ad Creation manager and then click Create.
  2. Select the Messages objective and then click Continue.
  3. Give your campaign a name, make additional optional decisions, and click Next
*Tip: If your ad is related to the Special Ad Categories, you'll want to declare it in the dropdown menu. Special Ad Categories include: credit, employment, housing opportunities, or related to social issues, elections, or politics.
  4. In the Message Destination section, Select Messenger. From the drop-down menu, select Click to Messenger.
  5. Edit your budget and schedule, and select the audience for your ad.
  6. Choose Automatic or Manual placements.
*Tip: We recommend selecting Automatic Placements for best budget optimization and overall views.
  7. Give your ad a Name and select the Facebook and Instagram pages you'd like the ad to be shown on.
  8. Select the Format for your ad. If you only have one media file for your Ad, choose Single Image or Video. If you have 2 or more media files, select Carousel.
  9. Now it's time to finalize the creative part of your ad. Select your media files and add the Primary TextHeadlineDescription, and Call to Action to be displayed on your ad.

-The Primary Text is the main messaging of your ad - this is displayed above the media file.
-The Headline is the bolded text that appears to the left of the Call to Action button. We recommend writing your headline to complement your call to action!
-The Description will show in your ad if it's likely to resonate with the person seeing it. This will only appear in some placements.
-The Call to Action is the button or link on your ad that represents the action you want people to take (in this case, it's Send Message)
  10. Under Message Template, select Start Conversations.
  11. Double-check your ad in the Ad Preview section. Once you're happy with your ad, click Publish.
  12. All responses to the Facebook Messenger Ad will be sent directly to your NextPaw dashboard messenger center.
