Enable Google Business Messages in Your NextPaw Dashboard

Overview

The most common way people encounter your business online is through your Google My Business (GMB) listing. Once you’ve set up your GMB listing, you can use Google’s Business Messages to help your customers reach you even faster. Activate the messaging feature and online shoppers will see a Chat button on your Google My Business listing. Customers can use Business Messages to connect with your business directly anytime and anywhere.

By integrating NextPaw with Google's Business Messages, you’re going beyond simple live chat. Customers can see average response times from your business, get answers to frequently asked questions, and message someone from your business. Google's Business Messages lets your customers message you from your business listing in Google Maps, answer cards in search results, and more. Rich features like photos also make it easier for you to help customers quickly get what they need!

The best part? NextPaw’s unified inbox supports Business Messages – meaning new conversations go straight to your dashboard’s inbox like any other channel! This means that you’ve just opened up another line of communication with your customers without adding an extra place for your team to monitor every day.

In this guide, we'll walk you through how to activate Google's Business Messages.

Activating Google's Business Messages

  1. Go to the Integrations page and click Google Business Messages
  2. Fill out your Basic Agent Information, all fields are required to activate Google's Business Messages.
*Note: Your website should have a privacy policy page, usually linked at the bottom of your home page. If you do not have a privacy policy, use this free privacy policy generator to make one and add it to a new page on your website.
  3. Fill out your Agent Availability Time, all fields are required to activate Google's Business Messages. When you're finished, click Next.
*Note: The Agent Availability Time is when customers can expect to message your business and get a quick response. We recommend using your business hours as a guide when setting your availability.
  4. When the page reloads, you'll see an alert letting you know that the Agent & Location have been verified. Click Next to launch your location.
  5. Finally, click the Activate Google Messaging button.
  6. Google's Business Messages takes about 2-3 hours before it's fully activated. When it has activated, your customers will see a Chat option directly on your Google My Business listing. New Google Business Messages conversations go straight to your dashboard’s inbox like any other channel!
